Grace & Faith Adaptive Curriculum
Biblical truth adapted for understanding — never watered down.
Grace & Faith Adaptive Curriculum is Bible curriculum created specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The curriculum is designed to help adults know God, understand His Word, participate in Bible teaching, and grow as disciples of Jesus.
Grace & Faith adapts the teaching method, not the truth of Scripture.
Who Is Grace & Faith For?
Grace & Faith is designed for adults aged 18 and older who benefit from clear, concrete, visual, tactile, and repetitive teaching methods.
It can be used in:
- Churches
- Disability ministries
- Small groups
- Home settings
- Caregiver-led Bible study
How Grace & Faith Works
Grace & Faith lessons are designed to make biblical truth easier to understand, participate in, and remember.
Each lesson follows a consistent structure so both learners and facilitators know what to expect.
Three Clear Teaching Points
Each lesson is organized around three main biblical truths. Breaking the lesson into smaller sections helps learners focus on one idea at a time.
Concrete, Hands-On Teaching
Facilitators use everyday objects, visual aids, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to help make abstract biblical concepts more understandable.
Check-In Questions
After each teaching point, learners are given simple questions and opportunities to respond. Participation may look different for different learners, and facilitators are encouraged to recognize multiple ways of communicating understanding.
Repetition and Review
Important truths are repeated throughout the lesson and revisited over time.
Retention Benchmarks
Grace & Faith includes review questions approximately one, two, and three weeks after a lesson to help facilitators see what learners remember and where additional reinforcement may be helpful.
The goal is not simply to complete a lesson. The goal is to help biblical truth become understood, remembered, and meaningful.
What the Facilitator Receives
Each Grace & Faith module includes a ready-to-use facilitator pack designed to make preparation and teaching clear, respectful, and manageable.
The facilitator pack includes:
- 12 complete lessons
- Lesson objectives and key teaching truths
- Scripture references and supporting Scripture
- Step-by-step facilitator notes
- Simple preparation instructions
- Low-cost supply lists
- Visual aids, and hands-on teaching ideas
- Three organized teaching points in each lesson
- Discussion and application questions
- Check-in questions to help gauge understanding
- Review questions
- One-, two-, and three-week retention questions
- Suggestions for adapting lessons for different cognitive abilities
- Guidance for sensory, attention, and participation needs
- Facilitator observation and reflection tools
- Module planning support
Facilitators do not need to invent a teaching method or create lessons from scratch. Grace & Faith provides a clear framework while still allowing the facilitator to adjust the lesson for the learners in front of them.
Why Grace & Faith Is Different
Grace & Faith was created around a simple conviction:
Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve Bible teaching that is both understandable and respectful.
The curriculum is different because it is:
- Adult-respectful — materials and teaching methods are designed for adults, not adapted from children’s curriculum
- Scripture-centered — biblical truth remains the foundation of every lesson
- Concrete and visual — abstract ideas are supported with clear language, visuals, demonstrations, and hands-on learning
- Participation-focused — learners are encouraged to respond and participate in ways that work for them
- Consistent — lessons follow a familiar structure that helps both facilitators and learners know what to expect
- Retention-minded — learning is revisited over several weeks instead of assuming understanding after one lesson
- Facilitator-friendly — clear guidance helps churches and ministries begin even without specialized teaching experience
Grace & Faith does not lower the importance of biblical truth.
It changes the way that truth is presented so more adults can meaningfully engage with God’s Word.
Adapt the method. Keep the truth. Honor the adult.
For Churches, Ministries, and Home Use
Grace & Faith is designed to be flexible enough to meet learners where they are.
It can be used in:
- Church disability ministries
- Adult Sunday school or Bible study groups
- Small-group settings
- Residential or community ministry programs
- Caregiver-led Bible study
- Home settings
- Homeschool families still teaching their adult child
You do not need a large program or a team of specialists to begin.
Grace & Faith can be used with one learner, a small group, or an established ministry. Facilitators can adapt pacing, participation, and activities to fit the needs of the people they serve.
Start with the people God has already placed in front of you.
